Common Mistakes & Misunderstandings
Each style uses different Unicode blocks: Bold serif, bold sans, italic, script, fraktur, and double-struck are all separate Unicode block ranges. They don't mix or scale β picking bold italic means all your text is from the bold italic mathematical block, not a combination of individual styles.
Accessibility concern: Screen readers often don't know what to do with mathematical Unicode letters in non-mathematical contexts. A screen reader may say "mathematical bold capital H" for each styled character. For content that must be accessible, avoid decorative Unicode alphabets in running text.
Not all letters exist in every style: Some Unicode mathematical styles cover only uppercase, only lowercase, or have gaps for specific letters. Where a character is missing from a block, the original character passes through unchanged.
Search engines see unrelated characters: From a search engine's perspective, "ππ²πΉπΉπΌ" is not the word "Hello" β it's a string of mathematical symbols. Indexing is unpredictable. Don't use Unicode styling for content you want discovered by keyword search.
